What I’m Reading

One of the best things about my debut year is all of the authors I’ve gotten a chance to meet along the way. Not only have I made some amazing friends, but I’ve gotten sneak peeks at fantastic books. I highly recommend these books, coming out tomorrow!

  • Cozy Mystery: Mia P. Manansala – ARSENIC AND ADOBO. Lila returns home after a bad breakup just in time to witness her high school sweetheart drop dead at her family’s restaurant. Can she find the real killer before her family’s future is poisoned for good?
  • YA: Lynn Painter – BETTER THAN THE MOVIES. Liz has spent her life waiting for the perfect rom-com worthy boyfriend to come along. She finally has a chance at everything she’s ever wanted, but fate has something to say about that!

Cozy Corner: I’m gonna get real for a second.

2020/2021 has been rough. On one hand, it feels insensitive and selfish to be hyper-focused on books and writing while a pandemic is raging outside but on the other hand, we need joy in our lives. Books are a great way to take a vacation without ever leaving our homes, to hang out with dear friends without worrying about viruses, and to help escape reality if only for a short time. That’s why we need books – funny books, sad books, kissing books, and even murder books. Long after we run out of things to binge on Netflix, there will still be amazing books on the shelves.

Speaking of shelves – after over 400 days in isolation, I was able to safely visit a few Barnes & Nobles over the weekend and celebrate KILLER CONTENT’s three month book birthday in person. 5/5 highly recommend!
