KILLER CONTENT comes out on Feb 2, 2021, but as per industry standards, has been made available for early reviewers, and the results are… mind blowing. No, really. Some of the blurbs and reviews that have come back so far have me so energized. I really can’t wait to get KILLER CONTENT into your hands!

Here are some of my favorite review snippets:

KILLER CONTENT was such a fun mystery! Even though it started with a murder, it felt like a cozy mystery, which I think is my new favorite thing to read! I loved the work challenges (who doesn’t love a good bookstore cafe setting?) and the way Odessa embraced being a stranger in a new city. I am so glad this is going to be a series!” – Beth Seufer Buss, the manager at Bookmarks bookstore

Savvy sleuthing, great characters, New York setting: a Killer new series! With cute social media posts thrown in and clever hashtags, this new series feels like a fun combination of Sex and the City and Murder She Wrote.” – Fresh Fiction

#MURDER, SHE TWEETED…. I love (Odessa) so much. I want her to be my best friend and I want to hear her accent and I want to eat her stuffed croissants and I want to catsit Rufus with her but above all I want to read twenty books about the way she uses social media to solve murders of influencer. Also, may we please have a Netflix series about her? Kthxbye.” – Instagram Reviewer

I started this book thinking I’d just read a chapter or two before getting on with other things, and ended up reading it the whole way through in one captivated sitting.” – Goodreads reviewer

In Olivia Blacke’s charming debut mystery, Killer Content, Odessa roams Williamsburg in her signature cowboy boots, looking for clues and getting into plenty of trouble…Fast-paced and funny, with a vivid setting and plenty of sass, Blacke’s first mystery is as engaging as its heroine…Olivia Blacke’s quirky debut is a cozy Brooklyn-centric mystery with engaging characters and a plucky heroine.” – Katie Noah Gibson, blogger at Cakes, Tea and Dreams / Shelf Awareness 2/9/21

Cozy fans will enjoy seeing Brooklyn (and Brooklynites) through spunky outsider Odessa’s eyes as she gathers the evidence to prove it. Distinctive characters enhance the lively plot. Blacke is off to a promising start.” – Publisher’s Weekly

Kirkus Review calls KILLER CONTENTRefreshing fare“. “In lieu of the standard cute cop–vs.–talented amateur standoff, Blacke’s quirky characters and offbeat plot twists allow her debut to work some pleasing variations on the theme.”

This is a fun read with relatable characters and an interesting New York setting. I’d recommend it to readers who enjoy lighter women’s fiction and cozy mysteries. It’s kind of the best of both types.” – NetGalley reviewer

Odessa is totally fabulous—a millennial Miss Marple, armed with Southern charm and a sewing machine. The cast of characters is rich and interesting, the setting was so richly described I felt like I was there, and the mystery was meaty—more than once I thought I knew whodunnit and was wrong. It was a thoroughly entertaining read!! I can’t wait to put myself in Odessa’s cowboy boots for her next caper.” – Instagram Reviewer

Fun, light murder mystery story that ends with a hint that there are more stories coming.” – Edelweiss reviewer

There is some found family, lots of craft beer, and adorable pets. I really enjoyed the dialogue and food descriptions and highly recommend. 🥗🥪🍺 Five stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️” – Instagram Reviewer

This is such a charming mystery! I loved Odessa who is spunky and stubborn, and her fish-out-of-water relationship with NYC. The secondary characters were great, and so was the backdrop of the cafe – everything felt very real with a hilarious quirkiness. And of course the mystery kept me guessing!” – Goodreads reviewer

This was a fun murder mystery that had me wishing I was spending the summer in Brooklyn (minus the sweltering heat).” – NetGalley reviewer

“Today’s read was the upcoming KILLER CONTENT by Olivia Blacke. I loved this cozy mystery and desperately hope it’s becoming a series. The author’s voice is fantastic and I almost didn’t care what was happening just because it was such a joy to read. But luckily, it’s got a good mystery that is so grounded in place and time. Now, many cozies have a kind of gimmick for a theme and this one skirts a few — the characters work in a bookstore/restaurant and know a lot about local brews. However, this isn’t really a cooking mystery or a bookshop mystery or even a brewery mystery. If anything, the theme is growing to love Brooklyn or even just that feeling of finding out that home isn’t always just you’re born. At any rate, come for the mystery and stay because you’ve fallen for the characters. 😁 (and yes, I have a very old kindle… haha)  #bookstagram  #books  #cozymystery  #mysterynovel  #killercontent  #librarianrecommends  #librariansofinstagram”Instagram Reviewer

This debut mystery introduces a spirited amateur sleuth with a unique voice in an atmospheric, upbeat mystery with a strong social media emphasis. Unconventional characters and two charming animals mark the launch of a series with great possibilities.“–Library Journal (2021-01-01) Lesa Holstine, Evansville Vanderburgh P.L., IN
